How to sign

  1. 1

    Open your PDF

Drop your PDF onto the tool, or click to browse. It opens right in your browser — your document is never uploaded.

  2. 2

    Create your signature

Draw your signature with a mouse or finger, or type your name and pick a style. You can create more than one (e.g. signature and initials).

  3. 3

    Place and size it

Click “Place on page”, then drag the signature where it belongs and use the corner handle to resize. Add it to as many pages as you need.

  4. 4

    Download the signed PDF

Click “Download signed PDF”. The signature is written into the document on your device — no sign-up, no watermark.

Why use Sign PDF?

100% private

Your document and signature never leave your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored — exactly what you want for contracts and forms.

Draw or type

Sign by hand with a mouse or touchscreen, or type your name in a signature-style font. Reuse saved signatures across pages.

Place it precisely

Drag your signature anywhere and resize it to fit the line. Rotations and page sizes are handled automatically.

No account, no watermark

Unlike e-sign services, there’s no sign-up, no email step and no watermark. It runs in any modern browser on any device.

Fill and sign without an account

Most e-signature sites make you register, upload your document to their servers, and sometimes pay or accept a watermark just to add a signature. LocalTools does it entirely in your browser: open the PDF, draw or type a signature, drop it on the page, and download. Your contract or form never leaves your device, which is the safest way to handle something you’re signing.

How the signature is added

Your drawn or typed signature is saved as a transparent image and stamped into the PDF exactly where you place it, at the size you choose. Because it’s written into the page, the signature shows up in every PDF viewer and on print. You can place the same signature on several pages, or add separate initials and a date.

Frequently asked questions

Is signing a PDF here legally valid?

A drawn or typed signature placed on a PDF is an electronic signature, which is widely accepted for everyday agreements in many countries. For documents needing a certificate-based digital signature or specific legal compliance, use a dedicated e-signature service. LocalTools is great for quick, everyday signing.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. Every page is read, rearranged and written entirely in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device, so it works even offline once the page has loaded — ideal for confidential documents.

Can I place my signature on more than one page?

Yes. Create a signature once, then use “Place on page” on each page where you need it, dragging and resizing each instance independently.

Does it add a watermark or cost anything?

No. Signing is completely free and never adds a watermark to your PDF.
