How to watermark

  1. 1

    Add your photo

Drop an image onto the tool, or click to browse. It’s loaded straight into your browser — never uploaded to a server.

  2. 2

    Design the watermark

Type your text or upload a logo, then adjust color, size, opacity, rotation and position — or tile it across the whole image. The preview updates as you go.

  3. 3

    Download the watermarked photo

Click download to save the result at full resolution. Free, instant, and we never add a watermark of our own.

Why use Add Watermark to Photo?

Text or logo

Use a line of text — your name, © notice or website — or upload your own PNG/SVG logo as the watermark.

Full control

Opacity, size, color, rotation, nine positions, and a tile mode that repeats the mark across the whole image to deter cropping.

100% private

Watermarking runs locally in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone.

No watermark of ours

Unlike many free tools, we never stamp our own logo onto your image. The only watermark on it is yours.

Watermark photos without uploading them

Most “add watermark” websites upload your photo to their servers and many stamp their own logo onto the result. LocalTools does everything in your browser with JavaScript and a canvas, so the image never leaves your device and the only watermark added is the one you design.

Tile mode to deter cropping

A single watermark in a corner is easy to crop out. Turn on tile mode to repeat your text or logo diagonally across the entire image, which makes it far harder to remove while keeping each copy subtle with the opacity slider.

Frequently asked questions

Will the tool add its own watermark?

No. The only watermark on the downloaded image is the text or logo you add. We never stamp our branding onto your photos.

Can I use my own logo?

Yes. Switch to “Logo”, upload a PNG (transparent works best) or SVG, and set its size, opacity, rotation and position just like the text watermark.

Is the watermark applied at full resolution?

Yes. The preview is scaled to fit your screen, but the watermark is drawn onto the image at its original pixel dimensions, so the download is full quality.

What image formats can I watermark?

JPG/JPEG, PNG and WebP are handled directly, and iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos are decoded automatically. The output is saved as PNG or JPEG.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding, any editing, and the conversion all run entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device, so it even works offline once the page has loaded.
