Two thousand years of filler text
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin lifted from Cicero’s “De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (45 BC) — the words are garbled just enough to be unreadable. Printers have used it as dummy copy since the 1500s; Letraset transfer sheets spread it through 1960s graphic design, and Aldus PageMaker shipped it as the default filler in the 1980s, cementing it as the industry standard placeholder.
