The pounds to kilograms formula

One pound is about 0.453592 kilograms, so divide pounds by 2.20462 (or multiply by 0.453592): kg = lb ÷ 2.20462. For example, 150 lb ÷ 2.20462 = 68.04 kg. For a rough estimate, halve the pounds and shave off about 10%.

Common pound-to-kilogram values

10 lb is 4.54 kg, 100 lb is 45.36 kg, 150 lb is 68.04 kg and 200 lb is 90.72 kg. Gym plates, airline baggage limits (50 lb ≈ 22.7 kg) and recipe weights all convert the same way.
