About the AVIF format
AVIF (AV1 Image File Format) offers excellent compression and quality, which is why it’s increasingly used on the web. But support is still catching up across editors, office apps and older devices, so you sometimes need a more universal format. JPG opens everywhere, making it the safe choice for sharing and uploading.
Browser support note
Conversion relies on your browser being able to decode AVIF. Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari can. If an AVIF file fails to load, it’s usually because the browser is out of date — updating it normally fixes the issue.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Decoding, any editing, and the conversion all run entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device, so it even works offline once the page has loaded.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like — a single image downloads directly, and multiple images are bundled into one .zip so you get everything in a single click.
Why convert AVIF to JPG?
For compatibility. AVIF is efficient but not yet accepted by every program or upload form. JPG is supported virtually everywhere.
